FELA’s product range is growing – also in the field of IoT tracking. For a new generation of IoT trackers for GPS-based fleet monitoring, we are currently running a field test – in the truest sense of the word – at our good customer, a Swiss vegetable producer with a fleet of almost 100 vehicles, to thoroughly test our new development.
FELA’s latest product development in the field of IoT tracking, has once again been greatly optimized compared to previous solutions in terms of hardware costs, installation effort and diagnostic options.
On-site installation is now no longer necessary, as the devices feature plug-and-play functionality – which, in addition to easier handling, also drastically saves on initial equipment costs. As a further cost-reducing factor, this, together with the lower hardware costs, results in an attractive unit price for our customers.
While the first generation of trackers for our project with our customer was still linked to various end points, such as the alternator, in order to collect relevant data, the new generation also takes into account the further development at the vehicle level and communicates directly with the diagnostic bus of newer vehicles.
Thus, many other vehicle data, such as oil or coolant temperature, operating time since last start or fuel level, are accessible for evaluation via just one interface and enable step-by-step modernization and optimization of the vehicle fleet.

The pilot project will serve as a basis for further standard products of FELA after completion of the field tests.
